Curiosity killed the cat：这话，最早是整句话出自1912年尤金·奥尼尔所写的剧本。

原因是猫喜欢用鼻子到处嗅。更因为猫有九条命，不那么容易死.可是连九条命的猫都被好奇心害死了.就别说人了而对人就是形容总爱问不应该问的问题，惹麻烦。

8.读西方谚语有感

“语言就是力量。”

这是法国著名文学家雨果的名言。将目光投向2008年北京奥运会，孔子的五句迎宾语格外引人注目，分别是：有朋自远方来，不亦乐乎；四海之内皆兄弟也；己所不欲，勿施于人；德不孤，必有邻；礼之用，和为贵。

这些名言代表了中国的文化，充分展示了语言的魅力，更体现了语言的力量。一直以来，名言是语言中的历史文化精华，是非常宝贵的人文资源，其教育意义生动而深远。

根据新课程的理念，我校把名言作为校本教材来开发，旨在继承优秀的文化传统，取其精髓，去其糟粕，用精华来滋养学生的心灵，浸润心田，把人格的信念注入学生的血脉，丰厚生命的底色；加强学生在学习、道德、劳动、习惯等诸方面的行为养成，培养作为现代人的优秀综合素养；尤其教会学生学习阅读，学会边读边思，深深懂得“学无止境”、“活到老、学到老”的道理，为终身学习打下坚实的基础；用名言和名言主人的事例来教育学生，学会劳动，学会审美，永远保持爱国心，进行正确的价值引领，使学生形成正确的人生观、世界观、价值观。“任何真正的教学不仅是提供知识，而是予学生以教育。”

在教育实践中，名言见于教室、墙面之处，发于教师、学生之口，处处有名言，人人讲名言，既学习又育人，“鱼和熊掌，二者可兼得”；着力于运用，用语言的力量来教育学生做人、学习、写作，也让教师和学生共读共写共研共练，共同成长；丰富了师生的人文底蕴，教得轻松，学得快乐，使课堂真正成为师生的诗意的栖居。由此，名言的丰富内涵才得以一一体现。

名言成为校本的风景，但“纸上得来终觉浅，绝知此事要躬行”，尤其要注意实践的原则：一是科学性。在名言的选择上，紧紧围绕学习、劳动、爱国等内容展开，杜绝华而不实，拒绝名不符实。

二是教育性。从学生的实际出发，把学习、做人等教育实实在在地做好，做精致。

三是启发性。考虑学生的个体差异，充分地启发情智，培养学生自我学习能力，把学习当成乐趣。

所以，名言的强大功能才被一一发挥。学习名言，过一种幸福简单的教育生活。
