英文中有两个单词的意思特别接近，就连以英文为母语的人也会时时混淆。这两个词就是如题的empathy和sympathy。

Empathy在词典里的解释是：Empathy is the ability to share another person's feelings and emotions as if they were your own. 也就是说，empathy是一种切身体会另一个人的情感的能力，好似这些情感是自己的一样。

sympathy的英文释义是understanding and care for someone else's suffering，意思是理解并关心其他人的遭遇。

简单点说，empathy是情意相通，sympathy是同情。
