I personally enrolled in some after-school classes. They were classes that help me prepare for the TOEFL test. They were very helpful to take the test but not beneficial for my English in general. I think its necessary to take after-school classes when you have a clear goal in your mind. For example, you want to pass some kind of tests or go abroad. They will improve your performances. They will make your life easier.
