在准备托福口语task 1时，令考生大感棘手的是如何准备细节，这里介绍几个比较好的方法希望对大家备考有所帮助。

在口语Task 1的考试中，考生需要就考题做出45秒钟的回答。考题主要分为两种，一种是“描述”某个人事物；另一种是特点类的题，需要就某个人事物的特点进行作答。

第一种题型出现的频率比较高，占91.41%，而另一类则出现频率较低，占8.59%。第一类题的出题范围主要集中在人、事、地、物上面，需要我们平时积累相关的素材，多训练自己就不同素材的作答能力，才能更好地应对该项考试。

在task1的题目中，要求考生形容（describe）某个事物，并进行相应的解释（explain）以及提供细节（details）。解释说明的方法有很多，这里介绍比较常用的举例法。

很多人一想到举例法就是用for example，其实除了这个说法我们还可以说for instance, take…as an example…，当然最重要的是例子究竟要怎么举才符合要求？比如题目是：Describe the important qualities for a good neighborhood.（邻居的重要特质），如果观点是要平易近人，然后用一长段例子来说明这个观点，是否可行呢？ 回答是否定的。我们看一个例子：I think the most important characteristic of a good neighborhood is to be outgoing. For example, when Im the new neighbor in this community, so I need a friend or a person to point some place to have fun or I can buy something from that community. So at that time if the neighbor is not very outgoing or not very kind, so maybe he or she cannot point the right place or be very outgoing for me. So thats why I think outgoing is very important for a good neighbor.在这个例子中，整篇回答只有一个观点，并用了一个很长的例子来解释这个观点，但整个例子并没有结合自己的亲身经历，而是一系列观点的叙述，给人的感觉非常冗长，也没有很好地解释为什么平易近人为什么很重要。

因此，在举例子的过程中，一定要与你的观点进行连接，而不是一味地举一个漫无边际的例子。在这个例子中，该同学想表达的观点其实就是一个好邻居可以为我指路，告诉我去哪里购物，那么好邻居的特点其实就是乐于助人，而不是外向（outgoing），因此，我们可以这样对这个例子进行修改：As far as I am concerned, the most important characteristic of a good neighborhood is to be helpful. For example, when Im in a new neighborhood in a community, I can ask for help from neighbors who can point out the place of shopping for me.
