    从一开始选定了yes or no之后

    你就要focus在你的point of view

    Greargument

副词貌似不能修饰名词,所以,第二段最后一行,partly factor,个人觉得part 好些,另外factor的话也是众多因素的一部分,好像都是复数哦~~所以,how about "part factors"?5、第三段first那段,apparently后面,this level vary from. 另外,it just contains 前面的符号应该是句号哦~~9、last那一段,goal换成purpose吧,sense差异太大了.10、 Does he skate only for relax or want to compete with others? 前面有个skate,你想表示skate for sth.,也就是说,后面表示目的,want就不能跟skate并列,所以or后面建议换成“for competing”.11、safe的比较级是safer.不是more safe.12、相同问题,these people should have.13、紧接着上面的,“这些人”的指代有问题,另外,被区别考虑,应该是“should be regarded .”14、最后一段有很多小问题,statistic的单复数最好统一,rollskater 的单复数、格式请统一;已经提到的partly factor;just consider 应该是过去式;既然前面是there are 那么后面应该是factors. okay,以上.

argument essay争论文is a college education essential to success in the united states ?argue yes or no.大学教育最成功的是美国?

Definition: In this kind of essay, we not only give information but also present an argument with the PROS (supporting ideas) and CONS (opposing ideas) of an argumentative issue. We should clearly take our stand and write as if we are trying to persuade an opposing audience to adopt new beliefs or behavior. The primary objective is to persuade people to change beliefs that many of them do not want to change.Choosing an argumentative topic is not an easy task. The topic should be such that * it should be narrowed downX Marijuana should be considered illegal. (Not a good topic because it is too general. In some medical cases, marijuana is prescribed by the doctors and the patients are encouraged to use it in case of suffering from too much pain)√ Selling and using marijuana in public places should be considered illegal.* it should contain an argumentX We should decide whether we want a bicycle or a car. (our stand is not clear: do we support having bicycles or cars?)√ If we are under the age of 30 and want a healthy life, we should definitely get a bicycle instead of a car.X Are you one of those who thinks cheating is not good for students? (a question cannot be an argument)√ Cheating helps students learn.X Considering its geological position, Turkey has an important geopolitical role in the EU. (facts cannot be arguments)√ Considering its geopolitical role, we can clearly say that the EU cannot be without Turkey.* it should be a topic that can be adequately supported (with statistics, outside source citations, etc.)X I feel that writing an argumentative essay is definitely a challenging task. (feelings cannot be supported; we cannot persuade other people)If you believe that you can find enough evidence to support your idea and refute others effectively, you can choose challenging topics as well. You can enjoy writing about such topics: Cheating is beneficial for students. Murat 124 is a very good choice for conscientious drivers. Stress is good for the human body. Polygamy is quite natural. For women, there is no need for men.Organization: All argumentative topics have PROs and CONs. Before starting writing, it is imperative to make a list of these ideas and choose the most suitable ones among them for supporting and refuting. There are three possible organization patterns: Pattern 1: Thesis statement:PRO idea 1 PRO idea 2 CON(s) + Refutation(s)ConclusionPattern 2:Thesis statement:CON(s) + Refutation(s) PRO idea 1 PRO idea 2ConclusionPattern 3: Thesis statement:CON idea 1 -----> Refutation CON idea 2 -----> Refutation CON idea 3 -----> RefutationConclusionThe sample essay has been written according to the third pattern.Thesis: Do Reiki instead of taking medicine.Counter argumentsRefutation1.People should trust medicine since it is effective and scientifically proven.----->Reiki is also scientifically proven and does not have side effects. (refutation method: insufficient claim)2.Serious illnesses such as HIV/AIDS and cancer cannot be treated without medicine.----->Medicine also cannot treat serious illnesses if not diagnosed at an early stage. (refutation method: opponents are partially correct)3.Reiki, like alternative healing methods, requires a lot of time.----->Reiki requires less time if done regularly. (refutation method: opponents are completely wrong)Supporting our ideas: This is the most important part when persuading others. We are asking some people to change their beliefs or actions. We should be supporting our ideas with such facts, statistics and/or authorities that there should not be room for any doubts. Here are some faulty supports we should avoid:Thesis: Leaving the university and starting to work is good for the adolescent because …* Feelings, emotional arguments (… it makes one feel much better.) * Irrelevant examples (wandering off the topic) (… he would then be able to take his girlfriend to expensive restaurants.) * Oversimplification (… only then would he understand what it means to be an adult.) * Hasty generalizations (。 it is a widely known fact that all adolescents look forward to earning money.) * Unreliable, even false outside sources (… according to www.doubtme.com, 80% of working men wish they quit school when they were at university and started working at an earlier age.)For more mistakes in the logic of arguments, see Fallacies. Refuting opposing arguments: Before we sta。

    argumentative essay about foreign aid

以下是我写的一个例子(欢迎转载,请注明作者)The issue of whether less development countries(LDCs) need the foreign aid from the developed countries(DCs) or international organisations is a debatable one. It is a important topic as it determines the standard of living of the residents in the LDCs and with globalisation, we will also be influenced. This is my film belief that foreign aid is only effective to a small extent due to the negative facts as high interest rate, misuse of money and backwash effect. It is no doubt to say that the DCs and international organisations give money to LDCs want to gain profit from it. Indeed, the profits earned by the LDCs will gone as they have to pay the loan back with interest. Although the rate is low in this case, but the sum amount is huge, end up with high payback. As a result, LDCs will remain undeveloped as they will not have sufficient money from the profit to invest on infrastructure and education. Therefore, foreign aid is not efficient. In addition, capital provided may not be used for the assigned project. One good example will be the foreign aid to Zaire from US. Zaire received US$927 billion in 30 years,(具体的我忘了= =,不知道是不是30年)and the money is used to purchase weapons instead of developing the country. Thus, the standard of living and the level of development is low still there. This evidence brings another core issue of the success of foreign aid, and I would like to say that is a transparent and good government. Without such, the money will probably be corrupted or misused. Ironically, people in this nation will suffer as they have to pay back whilst they do not even receive the help. In this aspect, I would say that foreign aid is not useful as well.Last but not least, another inevitable question is the backwash effect. Backwash effect occurs as a negative effect of core-periphery theory, which though the core will be developed, the surrounding region will still remain poor and the resources will also be drained, leading to uneven development furthermore. In my perspective, the impact is depressing as only minority will be benefited, and creates poverty for the majority. Develop one place is crucial, but develop globally is more important. How can foreign aid be beneficial when the majority is starving and living in slums? Some will argue that foreign aid makes most place booming, and the facts above are the few abnormalities. But the fact is that to develop a country need a lot of effort and money, foreign aid will not be endless. Frankly, in most cases, there were insufficient financial resources for the LDCs to spur the three aspects of development, namely social, economic and demographic aspects. And the target can only be achieved in a long period of time. Hence, there is a high chance of failure of the projects. In conclusion, I firmly believe that foreign aid will bring more problems than benefits because of the facts of high interest rate, misuse of money and backwash effect. However, we still have to implement foreign aid as a strategy to alleviate uneven development. Nevertheless, we also have to practise other strategies as strategies on the national scale to deal with the issue.

Argumentative Essay

Topic: Students Should Have Homework from Prep to Year 9 Homework for students is a part of the schoolwork. It is as important as the classwork. Therefore, students should have homework during their school years. The questiong is what homework is, how much homework should be enough for them to fulfil, how they can do their homework better, and whether all the homework must be hand in to the teachers.Somebody thinks that so-called homework means, of caurse, the writtenwork. In fact, such a viewpoint is of prejudice. Theachers fix up their pupils with homework because it can help them gain new insights through reviewing old materials. It is good their doing work at home no matter whether it is written or oral. Unimaginablly, some of the teachers order them to copy many a repeated material. Maybe they believe doinging so can do the deed for punishing those who are lazy with their lessons out of school. Unfortunately, such a behavior makes other innocent persons come to harm. Sometimes and wasting their precious hours to do the endless milk-and-water work in vain. On the other hand, certain of oral work can not only save time but also get twice the result with half the effort. It is true that homework for studnts should be all around, both written and oral. Nevertheless,it brings about another questiong: How much should be enough. The more is not always the better. Man's time and energy is limited. Besides study, he must sleep, have his meal, and do exercises and so on. As a student, shouldn't he help his parents with the housework? Even on the part of study, a student has to attend classes and take part in every activity at school and he cannot be wrapped up in homework only in door, so it should be suitable for him. Unluckily, students are loading down with their work home and at school. It is hight time that they were unloaded what they are able to bear. Now let me come to another topic: How a student can do their homework better. Some subjectively assert that homework must be done on his own. However, it is not the only way, I think, that one should do his howmork by himself, though he could train his ability thinking for himself. Every road leads to Roma. There are all kinds of means, by which a student can reach the same target, such as discussion with others, being tutored by his parents, referring to the answers by his classmates and so on. If a teacher is strict enough to order him complete it with high hand, he will force him into a corner so that the student's confidence is sure to come down. Finaly, I want to make a questiong that is whether all the homework must be hand in to the teachers. The answer lies on two respexts: on the one hand, some of them should be shown to the the teachers, which are likely to be useful for them to improve their theaching methods after going it over and finding some important informationg in it; on the other hand, some, which are only for the students to prepare their lessons, don't need piling up at teacher's nose to, which the teacher can check them up in class by means of putting questions to them. All the above summed up, the conclusion cames that it is not dispensable or indispensable to make arrangements for homework but, in the final analysis, how to do it.。

    Essay

An essay is, generally, a piece of writing that gives the author's own argument — but the definition is vague, overlapping with those of an article, a pamphlet, and a short story. Essays have traditionally been sub-classified as formal and informal. Formal essays are characterized by "serious purpose, dignity, logical organization, length," whereas the informal essay is characterized by "the personal element (self-revelation, individual tastes and experiences, confidential manner), humor, graceful style, rambling structure, unconventionality or novelty of theme," etc.
