General Tips

1. Pace yourself

ACT写作要求在三十分钟内根据提示写一篇文章，而对于所有的计时写作，最好的办法就是在写之前先花时间列提纲（Pre-write），写（write）后也留出时间做检查（review），因此按照一定的时间分配在固定时间内完成写作任务便成了在动笔前最应该明确的事情。

Pre-write (3 mins)

既然需要留出宝贵的时间列提纲，那么提纲就应该列的有价值。在写之前，首先确保读懂了提示（如若没懂，请再次阅读），然后确定自己要如何回答提示里的问题，接下来请用简单的词列出关于这个话题的理由和例子。

Write (25 mins)

在25分钟内完成一篇逻辑清楚观点清晰的作文并非一易事。但是，最基本应该在这篇作文中呈现出完整的文章结构，例如，在开头务必要让阅卷人明白到你非常清楚的理解了作文题目并且能够清晰又有逻辑的阐述自己观点，当然如果可以的话也可以在文章开头点出这个话题的问题或者复杂性，预见其他人会对你所提出的观点如何反驳等；在文章的中间段落用具体的例子，多变的句式，多样准确的词汇，流畅逻辑的过度来进一步紧扣开头自己提出的观点进行进一步例证；在文章的结尾，做出强有力的概括总结或者再次重申自己的观点，进行点题。

ACT的作文并没有严格的字数要求，因此无论你写的是三段式，四段式还是五段式，能够清楚合理的阐述自己观点的作文比只是在字数上有优势的作文更重要。

Review (2 mins)

如果写作时间不够，务必在最后时间完成文章结尾工作。这里主要指的是纠正语法，拼写，标点，书写方面的小错误。务必确保这些修改都是整洁的，切记不要把这种修改写在作文横线外或作文纸的边缘处。

2. Practice

Pracetice makes perfect。无论是哪个考试都离不开practice，但是对于ACT作文的练习不只是你每天写一篇作文达到量的积累就可以达到质的飞越。作文作为一种语言的输出，可以考虑以下方法提高你的写作水平：大量长期的阅读报刊杂志；看或者听一些实事评论分析；多参与辩论问题的讨论；让自己更加熟悉当前的热点问题等。这些都能够让学生了解和掌握对于一件事情的不同观点的逻辑分析，而且能够学习到一些成熟的评论分析者展示自己观点的方法和技巧。
