桑德斯的创业之路大家一定听说过桑德斯吧，他是“肯德基炸鸡”连锁店的创办人。

你又知道他是如何建立起这么成功的事业吗？是因为生在富豪家、念过像哈佛这样著名的高等学府，亦或是在很年轻时便投身于这门事业上？你认为是那一个呢？上述的答案都不是。事实上，桑德斯上校于年龄高达六十五岁时才开始从事这个事业。

那么，又是什么原因使他终于拿出行动来呢？因为他身无分文且孑然一身，当他拿到平生第一张救济金支票时，金额只有一百零五美元，内心实在是极度沮丧。 他不怪这个社会，也未写信去骂国会，仅是心平气和地自问：“到底我对人们能做出何种贡献呢？我有什么可以回馈的呢？”随之，他便思量起自己的所有，试图找出可为之处。

头一个浮上他心头的答案是：“很好，我拥有一份人人都会喜欢的炸鸡秘方，不知道餐馆要不要？我这么做是否划算？”随即他又想到：“要是我不仅卖这份炸鸡秘方，同时还教他们怎样才能炸得好，这会怎么样呢？如果餐馆的生意因此而提升的话，那又该如何呢？如果上门的顾客增加，且指名要点用炸鸡，或许餐馆会让我从其中抽成也说不定。” 好点子固然人人都会有，但桑德斯上校就跟大多数人不一样，他不但会想，而且还知道怎样付诸行动。

随之他便开始挨家挨户的敲门，把想法告诉每家餐馆：“我有一份上好的炸鸡秘方，如果你能采用，相信生意一定能够提升，而我希望能从增加的营业额里抽成。”很多人都当面嘲笑他：“得了罢，老家伙，若是有这么好的秘方，你干嘛还穿着这么可笑的白色服装？”这些话没有让桑德斯上校打退堂鼓，因为他相信自己拥有的是天字第一号的成功秘方。

桑德斯上校确实奉行了“不懈地拿出行动”这条法则，不为前一家餐馆的拒绝而懊恼，反倒用心修正说词，以更有效的方法去说服下一家餐馆。桑德斯上校的点子最终被接受，你可知先前被拒绝了多少次吗？整整一千零九次之后，他才听到了第一声“同意”。

在过去两年时间里，他驾着自己那辆又旧又破的老爷车，足迹遍及美国每一个角落。困了就和衣睡在后座，醒来逢人便诉说他那些点子。

他经常以为人示范所炸的鸡肉为裹腹的餐点，匆匆咽下便算解决了一顿。 一千零九次的拒绝，整整耗费了两年的时间，有多少人还能够锲而不舍地继续下去呢？真是少之又少了，也无怪乎世上只有一位桑德斯上校。

我相信很难有几个人能受得了二十次的拒绝，更不用说一百次、一千次的拒绝。然而这也就是成功的可贵之处。

如果你好好审视历史上那些成大功、立大业的人物，就会发现他们都有一个共同的特点：不轻易被“拒绝”打败而退却，不实现自己的理想、目标、心愿，就绝不罢休。他创业成功给我们很多启示：成功的秘诀，就在于确认出什么对你是最重要的，然后拿出各样行动；不达目的誓不罢休。

看到这里，我们还能有什么理由不坚持、不努力呢？选准自己的目标，就百折不回地为之奋斗，就离成功近了一步。
