请柬一般分为正式和非正式两种。正式请柬的书写格式比较严谨，用词显得规范，行文应该简洁。非正式请柬可用邀请信或一般便笺代替。
正式请柬一般包括以下内容：宾主姓名（邀请人与被邀请人姓名）、客套话、活动时间、内容、地点以及说明或附注。
宾主姓名一律采用第三人称，姓名一般不采用首字母的缩写形式。夫妇同时具名时，通常“先生”写在其“夫人”前。
英语请柬中的邀请套语“Request the pleasure of the company of”，相当于汉语中的“敬请光临”字样。
宴会性的活动内容，例如：桥牌（Bridge），鸡尾酒会（Cocktails），茶会（Tea Party），舞会（Ball）等一般不出现在请柬的正文中，应在请柬的左下角注明。
时间除了使用年、月、日及钟点外，还应注明星期几。时间不用阿拉伯数字写。请柬通常应提前一二周甚至三周发出。写请柬的日期一般不写在请柬上。

第二天去片给医生看过后，医生欣喜的说：“没有事，应该是那些小年轻技术不好，可以做牙模了。”我终于平静了下来，我听到妈妈放心的呼气声……就是两个小小的细节，我就体会到了妈妈的担心，体会到了妈妈的爱，体会到了妈妈宁愿自己下颌骨破损，也不要我有一点事情。
妈妈，我爱你。
